Kiruparajah Surendran is a highly accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor with more than thirtyfour years of experience spanning major infrastructure, aviation, commercial, residential, and healthcare developments across the Middle East and Sri Lanka. A resultdriven and resourceful commercial professional, Surendran is recognised for his strong foresight, planning capability, and ability to identify risks early while developing innovative solutions that enhance project value and safeguard commercial outcomes.
Based in Dubai for over two decades, Surendran has played a key role in highprofile programmes, including the Dubai International Airport Expansion, where he contributed extensively to airfield lighting and control systems, civil and architectural packages, and miscellaneous airfield works under postcontract administration. His wider UAE portfolio includes significant hospitality, banking, residential, leisure, and institutional developments, demonstrating his versatility across multisector project environments. His involvement spans projects such as the British Bank of the Middle East, Corniche Pediatric Hospital, Dubai International Marine Club, Hyatt Regency specialty restaurant fitouts, Al Owais Tower, large villa compounds, and luxury hotels, reflecting broad exposure to complex and highvalue assignments.
Before relocating to the Middle East, Surendran gained extensive experience in Sri Lanka, contributing to nationally important infrastructure and development programmes. His notable works include the Baseline Road Improvement & Extension Project, major road rehabilitations, university and institutional building developments, automotive engineering training facilities, and medical research centres. This foundation provided him with a deep understanding of civil and architectural works across both urban and regional environments.
Surendran’s technical expertise is supported by a BSc (Hons), City & Guilds qualifications, and professional memberships including MAIQS and MQSi. His specialist skill set spans budget estimating, cash flow planning, value engineering, variation and risk management, contract documentation, financial reporting, progress monitoring, payment assessments, prime cost supervision, and the preparation of final accounts. He is also adept at leading contractual meetings and providing structured commercial support to multidisciplinary teams.
